is the Director of Ubomi Bethu and a passionate human rights advocate. With a background in social work, she has successfully established the LGBTI forum in the Western Cape. Recently appointed as the provincial chairperson of the Provincial Council on AIDS and TB (NSP 2023-2028 term), she previously led the SANAC research sector. Amelia coordinates the LGBTQI+ forum, aiming to empower and educate LGBTQI+ populations to enhance their health and wellbeing. She is the community liaison officer at Groote Schuur clinical trials, providing key insights and networking opportunities. Her key passion lies in community development. 

is our dedicated finance officer at Ubomi bethu. She provides financial administration support to projects, teams and organisational wide efforts. She has worked in the nonprofit sector for almost 20 years. Her educational background includes a diploma in adult education from University of Cape Town with a focus on community organisations and change. She has developed a sense of devotion and appreciationfor nonprofit organisations and sectors around, especially for informal woman and youth development programs. This experience gave her a deep appreciation for how nonprofit organisations seek to improves the quality of lives in formal and informal communities through education and other initiatives. In the future she wants a world where woman and children are safe. 

is a dedicated advocate and Peer Navigator based in Khayelitsha. As an active member of Ubomi Bethu, she plays a pivotal role in organizing and mobilizing youth and community members to get tested for HIV. With a strong passion for health education and community empowerment, Ntomboxolo is committed to saving lives and fostering a deeper understanding and acceptance of LGBTQIA+ individuals. Through her work, she strives to create a more inclusive and informed community.

is a dedicated activist and a vital member of Ubomi Bethu. In their role as a Linkage Officer, Zizipho is responsible for organizing community members to get tested for HIV and ensuring follow-up care. Zizipho’s work includes making sure individuals adhere to their treatment and prevention plans provided by medical facilities. Through their commitment and efforts, Zizipho strives to enhance community health and support the fight against HIV/AIDS.

is the chairperson of the board with a history of being a counselor, trainer, and activist from Cape Town, South Africa. She has worked with esteemed organizations such as the Treatment Action Campaign, University of Cape Town, and Doctors Without Borders. Pumeza's advocacy includes promoting health education, conducting community training, and supporting the LGBTQIA+ community. Her tireless efforts have significantly impacted equality, justice, and inclusivity, empowering marginalized and vulnerable individuals and communities.
